STEM round 4

This term we are excited to spend time in STEM class. We got a new schedule for stem which Monday is reading day, Tuesday is the experiment, question or research more, Thursday is my favorite because we got to do the experiment or play quizzes or kahoot which is everyone favorite things to do, and Friday is the quiz day. The lessons we have learned is Acid and Bas. A special property of acids and bases is their ability to neutralize the other’s properties. So their both are nearly in everything that we use everyday life such as, toothpaste, lemons tea, vinegar, soup, and other many more things. We also did an experiment with acid and bases and the reaction was really cool because the reaction was changing the color, temperature, and its shapes. My team was facing a problem because we were read the instruction but we did it differently because we were confusing so it gives us the wrong result. It was the small experiment so it doesn’t explode but if we did the bigger one we may get hurt, so it my experience that I should follow the step carefully. The coldest reaction is when we take lemon juice mix with bleach cup and it starts to have a lot of bubbles and its flows to the top and when I try to feel the temperature it was very cold.

Science Round 3


In round 3 we learned about Carbons which is an important chemical element that all the living need because all the living things contain carbons. Carbon has an atomic mass 12 and atomic number 6. It is a nonmetal, meaning that it is not a metal. Carbon is found in nature in three allotropic forms: amorphous, graphite, and diamond. Graphite is known as the softest materials but diamond is one of the hardest, also graphite is known as a good conductor of heat and electricity while Diamond is a bad conductor of electricity but a good conductor of heat. Graphite contains free electrons, these electrons are free to move but in diamond, each carbon atom is covalently bonded with four other carbon atoms and there are no free electrons. I think everything made from carbon is different because atom distance doesn’t the same as each other.
